About

The following tutorial on buying books from JPQueen was created by xandria. Please direct your questions to her.

Buying from JPQueen

Who Are They

JPQueen is an online store carrying Japanese manga, doujinshi and related items, whose website is in both English and Japanese. Because it's also in English, it does attract a fair bit of attention. While fairly priced for older volumes, new or recent books can often be had for less elsewhere (i.e. such as at Amazon Japan, or BK1).

The Shipping Conundrum
Unlike most other online stores, JPQueen tends to charge more than regular postage rates for shipping. As a result, I've worked out a system to maximize your manga for your money.

Suggested Process

  1. Place everything you want in the shopping cart (it sucks to not find it again)

  2. When finished, look at your shopping cart and how much your order weighs

  3. Remove items carefully (see below for additional notes)

(a) try to work the total weight towards an optimum amount/total (I calle it a sweet spot) for your preferred shipping method (i.e. SAL, SEA etc.)

(b) remove items to get a weight as close to the maximum allowed for that sweet spot's level

The Details (aka The Files)

Download these files for more details. Please understand that I cannot be held responsible for your shipments, a change in JPQueen's pricing etc. Thanks. Personally, I use SEA for shipping and have never had a problem.
