However, shipping rates may suddenly change, an on-line's store's rules, minimums and requirements may also change without my knowledge. Thank you for your understanding.

Buying Local

If you're lucky, you might have local shops where you can purchase new and/or used manga. I even saw a tiny selection of manga for sale at a Japanese grocery store in the USA once. New and used books may be found in stores dedicated to the sale of such exclusively. However, don't discount shops selling Japanese paraphernalia either. Also, check out local comic shops and large chain bookstores, which will likely carry mostly licensed titles.

The larger the city you live in, the more likely you will find manga (both Japanese and licensed).

Mainstream Book Shops

Mainstream book purveyors such as Amazon, Borders, Barnes and Noble, Chapters, etc. also carry a selection of new manga (again, mostly licensed works). However, these stores may or may not carry yaoi titles (it likely depends on region, demand, store policy etc.).

Online

There are also various online "stores" that sell used and new manga. Some of these stores are outlined on this site.

Ebay is also another option, but I have yet to find any reasonably priced manga (compared to what is available elsewhere) on Ebay (then again, I don't look all the time).

Shipping

When you purchase from online shops, please note that depending on where you live, shipping can be a killer. Manga are heavy and even some doujinshi are pretty large. Prepare yourself to pay almost as much for shipping as you do for the book depending on the shipping service you choose, quantity of books etc.

However, if you're willing to place an order in excess of about 5 books, you can play the shipping game. In other words, buy as many books as you can to squeak in just under one of the shipping limits.
